What clients have shared
"I had been putting off looking into my EPF entitlements for a long time — I wasn't sure I had the right records and didn't know where to begin. Nestguard took it from there. The position paper they produced was the first time I had a clear written account of my situation."
Ahmad bin Mustafa
Johor Bahru · March 2025
"The withdrawal consultation was exactly what I needed. I had been advised by my bank to take the lump sum, but I wanted an independent view first. The written note after the consultation helped me explain my situation to my family clearly."
Loh Siew Fong
Kulai, Johor · February 2025
"After my father passed, a dispute arose over the nomination he had made years earlier. The situation was painful and we were not sure how to proceed. Nestguard handled the correspondence with the scheme calmly and kept us informed at every step. The matter was resolved without the family conflict escalating further."
Nirmala a/p Krishnan
Johor Bahru · January 2025
"I had worked for a government-linked company for eleven years before moving to the private sector. I wasn't sure how my pension from that period was treated under the KWAP scheme. The statutory review Nestguard produced gave me a clear picture for the first time. The fee was reasonable for what was involved."
Zulkifli bin Abdul Rahman
Batu Pahat, Johor · March 2025
"The follow-up conversation included with the consultation service was useful. I had re-read the note and had two questions that came up when I was discussing it with my son. Both were answered clearly. I came away feeling I understood my options."
Chin Teck Meng
Skudai, Johor · February 2025
"I found the practice through a referral from a friend in Johor Bahru. What I appreciated most was that there was no pressure to take any particular next step. The position paper was delivered on time and the language was straightforward — I didn't need to look anything up."

Detailed accounts
Three matters handled by Nestguard
Situation
A retired civil servant in his early sixties held pension entitlements from two periods of service — one with a federal ministry and one with a Johor state body. He had received conflicting information about whether both periods counted toward his public service pension calculation.
What was done
Nestguard retrieved the service records for both periods, identified the applicable pension regulations for each, and produced a position paper that separated the confirmed entitlements from the open questions. The paper identified a discrepancy in the state body's records and the appropriate process for having it corrected.
Outcome
The client used the position paper to initiate a correction process with the state body. The discrepancy was resolved within three months. He subsequently used the same paper as supporting documentation for a separate financial matter.

Situation
A woman in her late fifties approaching EPF withdrawal age had both an EPF account and a private retirement scheme that her employer had contributed to for eleven years. She wanted to understand which withdrawal sequence made sense and whether there were any interactions she had not considered.
What was done
The consultation reviewed the current rules for both schemes, including the relevant withdrawal ages, lump-sum and drawdown options, and the cash-flow implications of each sequence. A written note was prepared covering the options without recommending any particular choice.
Outcome
The client shared the consultation note with her family and returned for the included follow-up conversation two weeks later. She made her withdrawal decision at her own pace, and later confirmed she had found the written note helpful when discussing the matter with her financial institution.

Situation
Following a bereavement, two adult children held conflicting nominations — the deceased had updated the pension nomination form twice, and the scheme was uncertain which superseded the other. The children were not communicating directly, and one had engaged separate legal representation.
What was done
Nestguard represented one of the children through the scheme's internal dispute process. We prepared a submission addressing the sequence of nomination forms and the applicable scheme rules, corresponded with the scheme administrator, and kept the client informed in writing at each stage without disclosing confidential details unnecessarily.
Outcome
The scheme reached a determination within four months. The client's position was upheld. Contact between the siblings improved following the determination, partly because the process had been conducted without escalation.
Service: Beneficiary Dispute · Duration: 4 months
