Our services
Three services. One area of law.
Each of our services addresses a distinct situation that individuals face when dealing with statutory pension entitlements in Malaysia. The descriptions below explain when each service is relevant and what the engagement involves.

How we approach each matter
Every engagement at Nestguard follows the same broad sequence: understand the situation, examine the records, draw conclusions with appropriate care, and produce a written output. This sequence is not a template — it is a commitment to the quality of analysis that a pension matter requires.
We do not proceed to analysis until we are satisfied that the record base is sufficient. We do not draw conclusions that the evidence does not support. And we do not produce outputs that require a legal background to read.
Record-first approach
Analysis follows documentation, not the other way around.
Written always
Verbal advice is reinforced by a written note in every case.
Neutral presentation
Options and implications, not steered recommendations.
Open communication
Clients informed at each stage without having to ask.
Service one
Review of Statutory Pension Entitlements
This service is for individuals whose working history includes periods of employment under statutory retirement arrangements — the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP), the Public Service Pension scheme, or sector-specific arrangements — and who wish to understand the scope of entitlements flowing from those periods.
The work involves a careful examination of available records, an analysis of the applicable statutory provisions, and the preparation of a written position paper. The paper sets out what has been confirmed, what questions remain open, and the steps a client might consider depending on their particular circumstances.
What the service includes
- Retrieval and examination of contribution and employment records
- Analysis of applicable statutory provisions and scheme rules
- Identification of confirmed entitlements and open questions
- Written position paper in plain language
- Guidance on next steps, tailored to individual circumstances
Typical process
- 1.Client submits available records and describes the situation
- 2.We identify and retrieve any missing documents
- 3.Analysis is conducted against applicable provisions
- 4.Position paper is prepared and delivered to the client

When this service is appropriate
- You have worked under an EPF-contributing employer and are uncertain about your accumulated balance or entitlements
- You have service under KWAP or a public sector pension scheme and cannot confirm your benefit position
- There is a discrepancy between your own records and what the scheme holds
- You are approaching retirement and want a clear account of what you are entitled to before making decisions
When this service is appropriate
- You are approaching the age at which a withdrawal decision must be made
- You are uncertain whether a lump-sum withdrawal or a scheduled drawdown is more appropriate to your circumstances
- You hold both EPF and a private retirement scheme and want to understand how they interact
- You want an independent perspective before committing to a withdrawal option
Service two
Consultation on Pension Withdrawal Decisions
An advisory consultation for clients reaching the point at which withdrawal decisions must be taken — whether in respect of lump-sum options, scheduled drawdowns, or interactions with other retirement provisions. The consultation considers the scheme rules, the tax and cash-flow context as understood at the time, and the interaction with other plans the client may hold.
Advice is given without any suggestion toward one option over another unless requested, and the written note produced after the meeting remains available for the client to consider privately. There is no expectation of an immediate decision.
What the service includes
- Review of scheme documents and current balance statements before the meeting
- Ninety-minute advisory consultation (or longer if required)
- Written note of the consultation delivered within five working days
- Analysis of interaction with other retirement plans or tax considerations
- One follow-up conversation included within thirty days
Service fee
RM 1,340
Service three
Representation in Beneficiary Nomination Disputes
Representation for clients involved in a dispute over a pension beneficiary nomination — whether following a bereavement, a family disagreement, or an administrative question raised by the scheme. The service proceeds with care for the emotional weight of the circumstances, engaging with the scheme and other parties in measured correspondence.
Where a formal determination is sought, submissions are prepared with thoroughness, and the client is supported through each stage with clear written updates. We do not seek to escalate matters that can be resolved through correspondence, but we are prepared to proceed to formal processes where necessary.
What the service includes
- Review of the nomination form, scheme rules, and any existing correspondence
- Representation through scheme-level dispute resolution
- Preparation of formal submissions where a determination is sought
- Written updates to the client at each stage of the process
- Measured correspondence with other parties and the scheme administrator
Service fee

- A bereavement has given rise to a question about who is entitled to the pension proceeds
- A family member disputes the nomination made by the deceased
